The Allegheny County Parks Foundation commissioned a new, consolidated sculpture garden around the historic mansion grounds to enhance the visibility and accessibility of its significant art collection. While at LBA Landscape Architecture, I served as the project manager, working on the project from concept through construction and coordinating site design, grading, landscape, and detailing.
The design was shaped through an extensive collaborative process with county officials, Friends of Hartwood Acres, public art experts, and other stakeholders. A cultural landscape area around the 1929 mansion was carefully preserved to maintain its historic views and character, while the collection was given a dedicated garden setting. The result is an enhanced visitor experience that celebrates both the art and the historic landscape.
